What is offshore outsourcing and what does it mean with respect to IT?
Ans. Outsourcing literally means procuring of various services from an external source. Similarly, in the vast sunrise sector of Information Technology, offshore outsourcing means acquiring the IT services from any foreign country. read more

What is our development process?
Ans. At Classic Informatics Pvt.Ltd., we follow a well-defined process, enabling us to provide quality services in a planned manner, thereby, actually minimizing changes and quality issues after development. We follow the basic mantras of software engineering practices-Analysis, planning, design, development, testing and deployment. A brief explanation of the terms is as under: Analysis : - First, the project is thoroughly analyzed and then a detailed quote is prepared based on the effort involved.

Planning : - Project plan and technical documents are prepared defining the flow of the application.

Design : - A prototype and user interface of the application is designed. High Level Document supports the prototype.

Development : - The application is coded and parallel testing of the completed modules is done.

Testing : - Once all the modules of the application are completed, the application is tested and the bugs found are fixed resulting in a bug free application.

Deployment : - Once everything is done, the application is deployed on the production server. The source code and documentation are handed over to the client .

What is our Quality and testing process?
Ans. Quality, without doubt, is the most important part of the development process. We have a dedicated & competent Software Quality Assurance team. The team is responsible for the quality of the applications used in the development process. Each application goes through the process of rigorous testing as per the developed checklists. Once the project is well planned & documented, the quality assurance (QA) team prepares the test plans and the test cases. The Quality testing engineers execute these. Once the bugs are removed, the developers fix the optimization issues and other quality concerns. The quality team again to make sure that every issue has been resolved tests the application. Any reproduced issue is sent forth to the developers again for fixing. This process continues until all the issues are handled successfully.
To manage this cumbersome process, we have a comprehensive quality and bug management system in place

Is the code well documented?
Ans. Yes, all our codes are well documented.

Who owns the rights of the code?

Ans. A customer owns the rights of all the source codes, documentations and designs. These codes are not sold to any other client and are the property of that particular customer solely.

Do we take up maintenance jobs?

Ans. Yes, we take up short term and long term maintenance jobs. We are capable of providing our invaluable services 24×7.

Your previous development company could not finish the project successfully. Would we (CIPL) be interested in taking over from them?

Ans. We are ever ready to support our clients and take over a project in the middle. It is not always possible to utilize 100% of the code developed by the previous company, but we try to use as much as possible. Lack of proper documentation and coding standards in some companies result in low quality & unstable applications. In such cases, we redevelop the application from scratch.

How do we price a project?

Ans. We have two pricing models in place, viz. Fixed Price Model and Time & Resource Model. A brief explanation of the two models is given below: Fixed Price Model : - This is the most common method prevalent in the industry. It entails the preparation of an estimate based on the requirements, and then providing a fixed quote to the client. Payment terms depend on the size of the project. Staff Resource Model : - This is suitable for projects where initially the requirements are not very clear i.e., the customer interacts as the project progresses or there are several frequent changes in the scope or maintenance jobs. An estimate is given to the client, but actually, the client is billed based on the resources allocated and the time spent. A contract is duly signed on the agreed price. Normally, the payment is on a monthly basis, of which 75% is to be given in advance & the rest 25% is to be given at the end of the month.
